What they need

About LiverumLiverum is a next-generation, unified wealth management and crypto payment ecosystem. We empower individuals and institutional merchants worldwide by providing cutting-edge trust facilities, multi-asset digital wallets, and seamless crypto-to-fiat conversion infrastructure. Operating on a robust global scale, Liverum connects physical commodities (like gold), traditional fiat, and digital tokens (USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH) into a secure, all-in-one administrative platform. As we continue to scale our core financial services and premium membership tiers, we are looking for passionate innovators to join our fast-growing fintech team.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Compliance Officer to manage day-to-day regulatory and AML/CFT compliance for our Hong Kong business. The role combines local regulatory oversight with customer due diligence, ongoing monitoring and suspicious activity casework.

Working with the Group Head of Compliance, you will maintain the local compliance framework, provide practical advice to management and translate regulatory requirements into workable policies and controls. You should be able to take ownership of local work, exercise sound judgement and follow issues through to resolution. The role also contributes to the assessment and preparation of future licensing initiatives, where pursued by the group.

Key responsibilities

Hong Kong regulatory compliance

  • Manage the local compliance calendar, covering TCSP licence renewal, regulatory notifications, required approvals and other applicable obligations. Coordinate supporting records and submissions with the relevant internal owners.
  • Monitor Companies Registry guidance and relevant Hong Kong regulatory developments. Assess their impact, explain the implications to management and implement agreed changes with the Group Head of Compliance.
  • Maintain local policies, procedures and compliance records, ensuring the group framework meets Hong Kong requirements. Identify gaps and recommend practical improvements.
  • Coordinate preparation for regulatory inspections and enquiries, including evidence gathering, draft responses and follow-up actions, in consultation with the Group Head of Compliance.
  • Review proposed services, processes and business changes for regulatory and AML/CFT implications. Identify licence-scope concerns and required controls before implementation.
  • Support regulatory feasibility reviews and, where the group decides to pursue additional licences, contribute to application preparation, policies, controls and responses to regulatory questions. Work with the Group Head of Compliance and external advisers as needed.

AML/CFT compliance and monitoring

  • Maintain the Hong Kong AML/CFT programme and business risk assessment with oversight from the Group Head of Compliance.
  • Perform or review customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence, including customer risk assessments, ownership and control structures, beneficial ownership, and source of funds or wealth where required. Identify relevant parties in trust and corporate structures.
  • Review sanctions, politically exposed person and adverse-media screening results. Document the assessment and escalate material concerns or unresolved matches.
  • Conduct risk-based customer reviews and monitor relevant transactions and activity. Investigate unusual patterns, assess supporting information and document clear conclusions.
  • Review and improve monitoring rules, alert handling and investigation procedures. Assess virtual-asset-related risks where relevant to customer activity or a proposed business change, using appropriate information and tools.
  • Prepare suspicious activity case summaries and draft suspicious transaction reports (STRs) for the appointed Hong Kong MLRO. Escalate concerns promptly, preserve confidentiality and avoid tipping off.
  • Keep customer files, screening results, investigations and decision records complete and retrievable in line with applicable retention and data-protection requirements.

Management advice and business coordination

  • Provide day-to-day compliance advice to management and relevant business functions. Explain risks clearly, recommend proportionate controls and escalate matters requiring a senior decision.
  • Coordinate Hong Kong cases, quality checks and follow-up with relevant colleagues, with clear ownership and handovers.
  • Prepare draft replies and supporting materials for bank and payment service provider enquiries. All external bank/PSP responses must be reviewed and issued through the Group Head of Compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits, provide evidence and follow agreed remediation through to completion.
  • Deliver relevant staff training and concise compliance updates. Keep the Group Head of Compliance informed of material risks, overdue items, regulatory developments and resource needs.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in compliance and/or AML/CFT roles, including substantive experience in both Hong Kong regulatory compliance and practical AML/CFT work. Experience may come from banking, securities, trust or corporate services, fintech or another relevant regulated business.
  • Good working knowledge of Hong Kong AML/CFT requirements and practical experience with CDD/EDD, screening, customer risk assessment and suspicious activity escalation.
  • Experience handling regulatory filings, enquiries or inspections, and developing or maintaining compliance policies, procedures and controls.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements, assess their practical impact and provide clear recommendations to management.
  • Ability to assess corporate customers and ownership structures, review supporting evidence and write clear, reasoned case summaries.
  • Ability to apply Hong Kong TCSP requirements to the role, with appropriate onboarding and support where the background is in another regulatory sector.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to manage local priorities independently within the group framework. Willingness to challenge concerns constructively and escalate when needed.
  • Clear written and spoken English. Cantonese and the ability to read Chinese regulatory materials are preferred; Mandarin is an advantage.
  • A degree in law, business, finance, accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience. Legal training is an advantage.

Preferred experience

  • The following would strengthen an application but are not mandatory requirements:
  • SFC regulatory compliance experience, particularly for Type 1 (dealing in securities) and Type 4 (advising on securities) activities, including licensing matters, regulatory filings, inspections, enquiries and compliance advisory work. This experience would be useful in assessing and supporting future licensing initiatives, should the group pursue them.
  • Direct TCSP compliance experience, including Companies Registry licensing obligations, inspections, trust or corporate services due diligence, and local AML/CFT programme maintenance.
  • Crypto or virtual-asset AML/CFT experience, particularly hands-on transaction monitoring, alert investigation and suspicious activity casework.
  • Familiarity with blockchain analytics or wallet-screening tools, including assessing on-chain activity, wallet exposure and source-of-funds concerns.
  • Experience reviewing monitoring scenarios or rules, supporting a monitoring-system implementation, or improving investigation workflows.
  • CAMS, ICA or a similar professional qualification.

Immediate availability is highly preferred.

Business formal dressing is required.

Benefits:

  • Five working days a week; 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Birthday leave
  • Fringe benefits including: Annual Leave, Study Leave, Examination Leave, Trainings, Double Pay and Discretionary bonus
  • Medical & Dental Benefits
  • Supportive working atmosphere
  • Stable and friendly working environment
  • Career development opportunities
