Component Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

        Apply mechanical design, material properties, and manufacturing process knowledge to design suspension components and shipping trays. Collaborate with suppliers on DFM, design refinement, and production activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and follow testing procedures for component used in disk drive assembly.
• Lead the testing and qualification of the component.
• Collaborate with suppliers to achieve properties, tolerance, and quality of the component.
• Develop the component with suppliers for future design/requirements follow component roadmap.
• Participate in the failure analysis and give recommendations on correction of manufacturing and component performance problems.
• Coordinate and participate in FMEA, DFMEA for all new products.
• QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required:

• Bachelor's or master's Degree in engineering field.

Skill Required:

• Experience in suspension, preferred for HDD field.
• AutoCAD, SolidWorks
• GD&T and preferred for Tolerance stack up analysis
• Knowledge of statistical analysis methods, preferred for Six Sigma

Experience: 0-6 years.
