What they need

Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. Since then, we have evolved to become one of the industry leaders in the design, development and manufacture of pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated industries. We have established customers in aerospace (both civil and military), as well as in the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

We are looking for a detail-focused Composite Operator to join our team in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is vital to ensuring the consistent production of high-quality composite parts used for our ducting components.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To assemble composite components including:
    1. Tool maintenance & preparation
    2. Material cutting and kitting
    3. Laminating
    4. Vacuum bagging
    5. Demoulding and trimming
    6. Bonding, fitting and assembly
    7. Control of clean room
    8. Visual Inspection
    9. Handle materials and tools safely
  2. To complete the above activities using defined procedures and work instructions
  3. To observe and maintain high standards of Health & Safety
  4. To ensure that all work activities and records comply with Company Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice.
  5. Support continuous improvement and maintain a clean, organised workspace

What we're looking for:

  • Strong manual dexterity and confidence performing hands-on tasks
  • Proven ability to produce highly accurate, detail-critical work
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or composite production
  • Ability to follow clear verbal and written instructions
  • A responsible and safety-conscious approach to work
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and a positive team attitude

If you take pride in producing high-quality work and enjoy hands-on, detail-oriented tasks, we’d love to hear from you.

We offer a supportive and rewarding work environment that values your wellbeing and work-life balance. Enjoy the benefits of a 4-day working week, giving you more time for what matters most. We also provide an excellent pension scheme, life assurance, and access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme. Our team regularly takes part in social and wellbeing events, helping you stay connected, supported, and engaged both in and outside of work.
