Computational Designer

Responsibilities:

• Support design teams in developing computational design workflows using Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Create, maintain, and enhance Grasshopper definitions for design exploration, option studies, geometry generation, and design coordination.
• Assist project teams in applying parametric design methods to evaluate concepts, compare alternatives, and optimize design outcomes.
• Collaborate with BIM and engineering teams to understand project requirements and translate them into practical computational and visual workflows.
• Support the integration of Rhino and Grasshopper outputs with BIM workflows where required.
• Prepare clear diagrams, models, and visual presentations to effectively communicate computational design outputs to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Research and evaluate new tools, plugins, and workflows to improve the quality, efficiency, and innovation of design processes.
• Promote the adoption of computational design practices across the organization through guidance, best-practice examples, and informal training.
• Maintain well-organized project files, Grasshopper scripts, and documentation to ensure workflows can be efficiently reused and developed by other team members.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience using Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in Grasshopper-based parametric design.
• Proficiency in Rhino 3D modeling is mandatory.
• Ability to develop clear, efficient, and reusable parametric design definitions.
• Experience supporting design teams through practical computational design workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to explore and evaluate multiple design options through visual and parametric methods.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain computational design concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Well-organized approach to file management, script development, and documentation.
• Eagerness to learn and adopt new tools, plugins, and computational design workflows.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
