About Endiatx
Endiatx is a medical device company developing microrobotic systems for diagnostic use inside the human body. Our flagship platforms include PillBot™, a propeller-driven endoscopic capsule designed to enable real-time visualization of the stomach, and PillVue™, a passive capsule endoscopy system designed to improve access to gastrointestinal diagnostics.
We are a multidisciplinary team of engineers, clinicians, and operators building a new category of medical diagnostics at the intersection of robotics, imaging, and AI.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer to lead flow modeling and validation for one of our development programs. You will own high-fidelity simulations from setup through validation and work cross-functionally to turn results into practical engineering models.
This is a CFD-first role. You are the person who makes sure our simulation of the capsule is physically correct. You will work alongside our Unity/MuJoCo software engineers and produce validated physics and simplified models/parameters. Interest in that real-time and machine-learning layer is welcome and will shape how the role grows, but it is not required on day one.
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field with a focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics
- 3+ years of hands-on CFD experience, or equivalent graduate research experience
- Strong proficiency with a high-fidelity CFD toolchain (OpenFOAM, Ansys Fluent, or equivalent)
- Experience owning simulations end-to-end: meshing, solver setup, and post-processing
- Strong understanding of low-Reynolds-number hydrodynamics, boundary-layer behavior, and viscous drag
- Experience modeling non-Newtonian (shear-thinning) fluid behavior
- Experience validating simulation results against physical or experimental test data
- Proficiency in Python (or equivalent) for setup automation, data processing, and analysis
- Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and numerical methods, with sharp problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience building reduced-order or surrogate models from CFD data, including machine-learning surrogates
- Familiarity with real-time physics frameworks such as MuJoCo, PhysX, or SOFA
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unity
- Knowledge of physics approximations such as SPH or flow fields
- Experience with GPU / compute-shader development (HLSL/CUDA) for accelerated math
- Experience using C# for collaborating with simulator codebase
- Prior work in medical devices
Location
On-site in Hayward, CA. Limited hybrid flexibility may be available based on project needs.
