Duties

• Begin each session with a short reading from the Holy Bible.
• Submit study cards and a full video recording of each scheduled session.
• Teach foundational programming concepts: Variables, data types, loops, conditionals, functions, arrays/lists, objects, recursion basics.
• Guide students through problem‑solving frameworks: Breaking down problems, identifying patterns, writing pseudocode, step‑by‑step logic.
• Support common freshman‑level languages: Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript (depending on student needs).
• Help students debug code effectively: Reading error messages, tracing logic, testing edge cases, improving code clarity.
• Assist with coursework, labs, and assignments ethically: Explaining concepts and guiding — not doing the student’s homework for them.
• Prepare students for quizzes, exams, and projects: Reviewing key topics, creating practice problems, reinforcing weak areas.
• Provide structured, patient explanations: Ensuring students understand why something works, not just how.
• Model In Christ Tutoring’s values: Integrity, excellence, humility, and a heart for serving students.

Technical Requirements

• Strong understanding of introductory programming (CS1/CS2 level).
• Proficiency in at least one major language: Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
• Ability to teach logic, algorithms, debugging, and structured thinking.
• Comfortable explaining concepts in simple, step‑by‑step language.

Teaching Requirements

• Prior tutoring or teaching experience (formal or informal).
• Ability to simplify complex concepts for beginners.
• Patience, clarity, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to create practice problems and guide students through them.

Professional Requirements

• Reliable internet and ability to tutor online.
• Consistent availability for weekly sessions.
• Respectful, calm, and non‑confrontational communication style.

Optional but Highly Valuable

• Experience with AP Computer Science A or high school CS teaching.
• Familiarity with IDEs (PyCharm, VS Code, Eclipse) and online coding platforms.
• Ability to help students build confidence in problem‑solving and logical reasoning.
• Experience mentoring beginners or students who struggle with math logic.
