JOB DESCRIPTION: Computer Science Teacher Qualifications: Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related area C Programming Language Certified Associate (CLA) Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) Microsoft Technology Associate (Two areas required) Information Technology Specialist Exam (Two areas required) Oracle Certified Associate SAS Certified Specialist: Base Programming or Hold a valid Alabama Professional Certificate in a teaching field and have either gone to one of the ALSDE-approved training sessions or have passed the Computer Science Praxis ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Create a computer science program and classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth Establish effective rapport with students Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation Utilize technology to motivate students and prepare students for the 21st century Participate in school-related activities that enhance teacher, student, parent, and community relations Analyze different data sources in making data-driven decisions for instruction Establish positive relationships with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors Perform other duties as assigned by the principal HOW TO APPLY: All applicants should complete the State of Alabama on-line application and attach it to the specific job number in order to be eligible for hire.
