208GEEK is a locally owned computer repair and IT company serving the Treasure Valley. We’re looking for a dependable, personable technician to help residential customers with their computers, Wi-Fi, and everyday technology.
This position combines onsite appointments in customers’ homes with computer repair and customer support in our shop. You should enjoy troubleshooting problems and helping people feel comfortable with their technology.
What you’ll do
- Diagnose and repair Windows computer hardware and software problems.
- Troubleshoot home Wi-Fi and networks, including routers, connectivity issues, and connected devices.
- Set up new computers, transfer files, and install and configure software.
- Set up and troubleshoot printers, email, and other common home technology.
- Remove unwanted software and address browser pop-ups and scam notifications.
- Clearly explain problems, recommended solutions, and service charges before proceeding.
- Write accurate service notes and keep the office informed about appointment progress.
- Assist with shop repairs and customer service between onsite appointments.
Required skills and qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Regular travel to customer appointments is an essential part of this position.
- Hands-on computer repair skills. You can diagnose common hardware and software issues using a logical troubleshooting process.
- Wi-Fi and home network troubleshooting skills. You understand how to identify problems involving internet service, routers, wireless connections, and individual devices.
- Patience with customers. You can help people who may be frustrated, worried about scams, or unfamiliar with technology.
- Clear communication. You can explain technical problems in everyday language, answer questions respectfully, and confirm that the customer understands.
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to manage appointments independently.
- Care and discretion when handling customer equipment, personal files, and account access.
- Good judgment about when to ask for help or escalate an issue.
Professional computer repair or technical support experience is preferred. A college degree or certification is welcome, but neither is required. Practical skills, customer service, and a willingness to learn matter most.

- $22–$23 per hour, depending on experience.
- Full-time employment.

- A small team with support from experienced technicians and the owners.
