Computer Vision Tech Lead

One of our clients, a startup developing AI-based software for construction and infrastructure applications, is looking to hire a Computer Vision Tech Lead.

The position combines hands-on computer vision development with technical influence across research and engineering. You will take responsibility for solutions used in a commercial product, work with data and product colleagues, and help colleagues develop their technical capabilities.

Scope and contribution

• Translate open-ended product problems into algorithm designs, experiments and maintainable implementations, drawing on perception, learning, optimization and graph methods.
• Define how solutions are tested and improved, and carry them through deployment with accountability for their reliability.
• Track deployed model performance, investigate deterioration and coordinate corrective work.
• Contribute to design discussions with data engineering and product, and strengthen engineering practice through reviews and technical mentoring.
• Expand the use of AI assistants in development, progressing toward designing systems and supervising agent execution.

Essential background

• Relevant B.Sc. or M.Sc. plus at least 10 years as a Computer Vision or Algorithm Engineer, OR a relevant Ph.D. plus at least 7 years of relevant industry experience.
• Substantial breadth and depth in computer vision, supported by strong foundations in algorithms and the ability to work in related domains.
• Advanced capability with deep learning frameworks; PyTorch is preferred rather than mandatory.
• Strong Python skills, including software suitable for production use.
• Demonstrated responsibility for bringing computer vision work from research into a deployed system.
• Ability to solve poorly defined problems independently, identify needs and remain accountable for delivery.
• Experience helping colleagues improve through mentoring, knowledge exchange and technical guidance.
• Clear communication of algorithm choices to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Current experimentation with AI development tools and motivation to build more capable workflows, including directing AI agents. An established agent workflow or specific AI tool is not required.

nice to have

• GIS data or computer vision applied to geospatial problems.
• Graph neural networks or other graph algorithms.
