COMSEC Manager

Are you an experienced Communications Security (COMSEC) professional with a strong background in cryptography, key management, and secure communications?

We’re looking for a COMSEC Manager to join an international technology environment and take ownership of the protection, governance, and lifecycle management of cryptographic material and secure communications.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of critical communications , combining technical expertise, security governance, risk management, and compliance.

🔐 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Define, maintain, and continuously improve cryptographic policies and standards , including approved algorithms, key lengths, cryptoperiods, and protocols.
• Manage the complete cryptographic key lifecycle , from generation and registration through distribution, storage, rotation, revocation, archiving, and secure destruction.
• Oversee and support cryptographic technologies, including Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and Key Management Systems (KMS) .
• Act as a COMSEC custodian , maintaining an accurate, secure, and auditable inventory of COMSEC assets.
• Design, review, and validate secure communications architectures across voice, data, and network environments.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies, regulatory requirements, and recognized security standards.
• Manage and coordinate COMSEC-related security incidents , supporting root cause analysis, risk mitigation, and corrective actions.
• Identify security risks and contribute to the continuous improvement of communications security controls.
• Develop and deliver COMSEC awareness and training for relevant teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, network, compliance, and other technical teams in an international environment.

🎯 What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science , or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Information Security , including a minimum of 3 years focused on Communications Security / COMSEC .
• Strong knowledge of modern cryptographic concepts and algorithms, including AES, RSA, and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) .
• Hands-on experience with HSMs and Key Management Systems .
• Solid understanding of cryptographic key management principles and security best practices.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards, particularly ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST .
• Experience supporting or managing security incidents and risk mitigation activities .
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English .

⭐ Nice to Have:

• Previous experience within highly regulated environments such as financial services, telecommunications, government, or other security-sensitive industries .
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or ISO/IEC 27001 .
• Experience with cloud-based key management and cryptographic services .
• Exposure to security architecture, governance, risk, and compliance activities.
