Concrete Finisher / Asphalt Labor

The Concrete Finisher’s position is a part of a very dynamic crew and requires several different job functions. While a primary duty is to smooth wet concrete after a concrete pour, applicant will also participate in asphalt patch work regularly and work alongside a paving crew as needed. Concrete finishers are expected to assist in all task performed by the patching crew. Applicants must be willing to work limited nights and weekends as needed. Must possess valid drivers license and provide personal transportation to and from work.

In addition to general concrete work, a cement finisher’s job consists of, but is not limited to, the following duties:

• Shoveling dirt, gravel, and asphalt;
• Set up and maintenance of all traffic control aids;
• Driving service trucks and non-CDL dump trucks
• Ability and experience to pull and back a non-CDL trailer
• Operating equipment such as backhoes, Skid Steer Loaders, and any other equipment an employee is able to operate
• Building wood forms;
• Erection and wrecking of all forms;
• Pouring concrete;
• Set up and maintenance of erosion control;
• Loading and unloading of materials;
• General clean up around job site;
• Certified Traffic Flagger (Or ability to obtain company paid certification);
• Maintenance of all equipment and tools.

The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented. The above listed duties require periods of standing, walking, stooping and bending. Employee must be able to climb equipment’s ladder to reach the operators seat. Position requires periodic lifting up to 50 pounds. Applicant must possess valid drivers license and be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Physical Card (paid for by company). • Asphalt Paving: 1 year (Preferred)
• Concrete finishing: 1 year (Preferred)
