Concrete Finisher Laborer

PMI Paving is seeking a skilled and reliable Concrete Finisher Laborer to join our crew. This position is responsible for assisting with site preparation, placing, pouring, and finishing concrete surfaces across both public and private projects. We are looking for hard-working team players dedicated to quality workmanship, site safety, and continuous professional growth.

Responsibilities:

• Concrete Preparation & Pouring: Set up forms, place rebar/mesh, and perform concrete pours for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, flatwork, and ADA ramps.
• Finishing Operations: Smooth, level, and finish freshly poured concrete using hand and power tools (floats, trowels, edgers, screeds, and broom finishes).
• Site Support & Labor: Assist with grading, subgrade preparation, demolition, cleanup, and material handling on job sites.
• Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all safety rules and regulations, properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe job site for yourself and your crew.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean, inspect, and maintain hand tools, power tools, and concrete equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of hours and job site notes as directed.
• Teamwork: Maintain positive communication with the Concrete Foreman, Project Manager, Operations Manager, and fellow crew members to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Perform other related field duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on experience in concrete finishing, flatwork, and site preparation.
• Strong knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, placing, edging, jointing, and finishing techniques.
• Proficiency in using concrete tools and machinery (screeds, power trowels, saws, vibration machines).
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor for long shifts.
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Capable of engaging in continuous physical activity including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and handling materials.
• Strong work ethic, punctual, and a positive team player.
