Concrete Finishers & Formworkers

We are currently seeking skilled and experienced Concrete Finishers and Formworkers to join our dynamic team and contribute to the successful delivery of our projects.

Position Overview

As a Concrete Finisher or Formworker, you will be responsible for preparing, installing and finishing concrete structures and formwork across a range of civil construction projects. You will work closely with site supervisors, engineers and other construction personnel to ensure concrete and formwork activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct, erect, install and dismantle formwork for concrete foundations, footings, slabs, walls, columns, beams and other structural elements.

• Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood, steel and other materials to construct formwork structures.

• Install and secure formwork, bracing, supports and reinforcement components to ensure stability and accuracy during concrete placement.

• Prepare concrete surfaces, formwork and work areas prior to concrete pouring.

• Place, spread, compact, level and finish concrete using appropriate tools, equipment and techniques.

• Screed, trowel, float and smooth concrete surfaces to achieve the required levels, finishes and tolerances.

• Apply concrete finishing techniques in accordance with project requirements, including exposed, textured and smooth finishes where required.

• Monitor concrete setting and curing processes and carry out finishing works within the required timeframes.

• Strip and remove formwork once concrete has sufficiently set, ensuring finished structures are not damaged.

• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and concrete finishing equipment safely and effectively.

• Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, concreters, steel fixers and other trades to ensure works are completed in line with project schedules.

• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, risk assessments, safe work method statements and site-specific requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience working as a Concrete Finisher, Formworker or in a similar civil construction role.

• Proven experience in constructing and installing formwork for concrete structures.

• Experience placing, levelling, screeding, trowelling and finishing concrete surfaces.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.

• Ability to measure, cut, assemble and install formwork materials accurately.

• Strong understanding of construction site safety requirements and safe work practices.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from site supervisors.

• White Card and relevant construction tickets or qualifications will be highly regarded.

• Previous experience on civil infrastructure, earthworks, structural concrete or large-scale construction projects will be highly regarded.
