Concrete Former

Overview

We are seeking a dependable Concrete Former to support construction projects involving concrete placement, forming, and finishing. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to work effectively with a crew. Applicants should be comfortable with physical work, including heavy lifting, and working with construction tools and materials.

Duties

• Build, set, and remove forms for concrete structures, following project plans and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine dimensions, layouts, and material requirements.
• Install and secure rebar and other reinforcement before concrete placement.
• Place, level, and finish concrete surfaces; assist with repairs and restoration as needed.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely for forming, cutting, fastening, and finishing tasks.
• Assist with carpentry, masonry, renovation, and related construction work.
• Support tasks such as drywall, caulking, and flooring installation when required by the project.
• Operate or assist with heavy equipment when qualified and authorized.
• Perform basic welding tasks when trained and assigned.
• Move materials and equipment, including performing heavy lifting, while following safe handling practices.
• Keep work areas organized and comply with site safety procedures.

Experience

• Construction experience is preferred; experience in concrete forming and concrete finishing is especially valuable.
• Practical knowledge of carpentry, masonry, rebar installation, and construction methods is an asset.
• Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools and power tools are preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics is an advantage.
• Experience with heavy equipment operation, restoration, renovation, drywall, caulking, flooring installation, or welding is helpful but not required.
• Must be able to perform physical job duties, including heavy lifting, and work safely as part of a construction crew.

Pay: $24.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 55.0 per week
