Concrete Lab Technician

About the role

Responsible for conducting materials testing and quality control checks on concrete, raw materials, and precast products to ensure compliance with mix design specifications and relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out testing of fresh concrete (slump test, making test cube) at batching plant and site
• Conduct raw material testing (aggregate grading, moisture content, sand silt content, cement quality checks)
• Record and compile test results accurately; flag non-conformances to the QA/QC Manager
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment; ensure proper functioning of testing tools
• Maintain lab cleanliness, sample storage, and proper labeling/traceability of samples
• Prepare test reports and certificates for internal QC records or client submission
• Assist in mix design trials and adjustments as directed by the QA/QC Manager
• Follow lab safety procedures and use PPE when handling materials and equipment

Requirements

• Minimum SPM, or equivalent; Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (preferred)
• Prior experience in a concrete/construction materials testing lab preferred
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
• Willing to work at both lab and site/batching plant locations
