About Us
Firm Foundation Repair is a family owned and operated foundation repair company based in Joplin, Missouri. We serve homeowners across Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas — up to 200 miles from the shop. We repair foundations, waterproof basements and crawlspaces, install drainage systems, and lift and level concrete. We are growing fast, we take care of our people, and there is real room to move up here for guys who show up and do good work.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Concrete Lifting Technician — a poly jacker — to run our polyurethane lifting work. You will drill, inject, and lift settled concrete: driveways, sidewalks, patios, garage and basement floors, steps, pool decks, and void fill under slabs.
Concrete lifting is a piece of what we do, not all of it. Between poly jobs you will work on our crawlspace and foundation repair crews. This is not a sit-and-wait job. If you only want to run a poly rig and nothing else, this is not the right fit. If you want steady 40 hours a week year-round and the chance to learn every service we offer, keep reading.
What You'll DoConcrete Lifting (Poly)
- Set up and operate the polyurethane injection rig — reactor/proportioner, heated hose, and gun — including daily startup, pressure and temperature checks, ratio checks, mix module changes, and purging and shutdown
- Drill injection holes in the correct pattern and sequence for the slab and the failure
- Inject NCFI 2.8 lb lift foam and Strata void fill, controlling the lift with a laser, string line, or straightedge so the slab comes up level without cracking it
- Fill voids under slabs, stabilize sinking concrete, and seal joints and cracks as specified
- Patch injection holes clean so the finished job looks right to the homeowner
- Tow, load, and maintain the poly trailer — foam drum levels, generator, hoses, fittings, drill bits, PPE stock
- Follow safe handling procedures for isocyanate chemicals: respirator, gloves, eye protection, spill containment
- Photograph before, during, and after conditions and document the job in our system
Crawlspace & Foundation Repair (Between Poly Jobs)
- Hand-dig and machine-dig pier holes; drive push piers and slab piers with hydraulic equipment
- Install sump pumps, interior tile drain, French drain, and dimple mat
- Install vapor barrier and full crawlspace encapsulation
- Install carbon fiber straps and staples, support posts, beams, and joists
- Run jackhammers, concrete saws, mixers, and a mini excavator
- Haul material and debris, mix and place concrete, and clean the site at the end of every day
- Represent the company well on a homeowner's property — clean truck, clean language, clean work area
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in polyurethane concrete lifting, mudjacking, or running a spray/injection foam rig. Foundation repair or concrete construction experience will be considered if you have real poly time behind it.
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that lets you operate a company truck
- Comfortable towing and backing a trailer
- Able to lift 75+ lbs repeatedly and work on your knees, on your back, and in tight crawlspaces as low as 18 inches
- Willing to work in heat, cold, mud, and dust — this work is hot in the summer and it is not clean
- Able to read a tape measure, run a level or laser, and follow a scope of work as written
- Show up on time at the shop every morning, ready to work
- Willing to travel within our four-state service area, with occasional overnight stays
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Comfortable using a smartphone for job photos and daily documentation
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with NCFI foam or a comparable two-component proportioner system
- Experience running a mini excavator, skid steer, or jackhammer
- Previous foundation repair, waterproofing, or crawlspace experience
- OSHA 10 certification
- Any experience training or leading a two- or three-man crew
Physical Demands
This is a physically demanding, outdoor, hands-on job. Expect standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, digging, and repeated lifting throughout the day. Expect confined spaces. Expect weather. We provide the PPE and we do not cut corners on safety, but you need to be in shape to do this work.
What We Offer
- Guaranteed 40-hour work week — steady, year-round work
- [$20-$30], based on experience
- Overtime available during our busy season
- Paid training on our equipment, products, and process
- All tools, equipment, and company vehicle provided
- Family owned and operated — you'll know the owner by name, not by email address
- Real opportunity to move up: lead tech, foreman, and beyond as we grow
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Dental insurance
- Flexible schedule
- Health insurance
- Life insurance
- On-the-job training
- Parental leave
- Professional development assistance
