Concrete Plant Operator (Batcher)

Cowboy's Ready Mix, LLC (CRM) is a fast growing company with 6 concrete batch plants; Wallisville, Dayton, Winnie, Beaumont, Port Arthur, & Sabine Pass.

CRM is looking to hire a Batch plant operator for our on-site concrete plant in Sabine Pass. Operation hours; Monday-Saturday, Hours vary with customer job demands and weather.

Position Summary:
The Onsite Concrete Plant Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the concrete batch plant, producing concrete according to customer and project specifications, and ensuring accurate batching, loading, and delivery coordination.

The operator is also responsible for routine plant inspections, basic maintenance, inventory monitoring, and maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor concrete batch plant equipment.
• Accurately batch concrete according to approved mix designs and job specifications.
• Monitor the quality and consistency of concrete being produced.
• Coordinate with truck drivers, project supervisors, and onsite personnel regarding concrete production and delivery schedules.
• Load ready-mix trucks safely and efficiently.
• Inspect plant equipment and report mechanical or operational problems.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventative maintenance.
• Monitor inventory levels of cement, aggregates, admixtures, and other materials.
• Maintain accurate production and material records.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Keep the plant, equipment, and surrounding work area clean and orderly.
• Troubleshoot minor plant issues and notify management or maintenance personnel when repairs are needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous concrete batch plant or ready-mix experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Ability to read and follow mix designs and production instructions.
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, climb stairs/ladders, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license
• Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.

The employee is expected to operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner, follow established operating procedures, conduct required inspections, and immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment damage, spills, or mechanical problems to management.
