Concrete Boom Pump Driver (HGV Class 2) - Stowmarket

Salary: £40,973.40 per annum, plus an overtime rate of £23.29 OTE £50-£55k
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday - Friday (including paid breaks)

This is an exciting opportunity for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join an established and independent concrete supplier in the Eastern Region.

The pump driver is a valued part of Eastern Concrete’s operation, not simply the person behind the wheel. You will help turn a concrete delivery into a successful pour, working directly with customers and site teams on everything from small local jobs to major constructions sites.

What You'll Need:

• Valid Class 2 Licence and CPC Driver Qualification Card
• Concrete boom pump operating experience is preferred but relevant experience in other HGV driving roles will also be considered
• A positive and conscientious approach towards health and safety
• A reliable, enthusiastic and customer-focused attitude
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and clients
• Familiarity with East Anglia is a bonus
• Willingness to learn and support various duties across the business
• An NPORS card would be an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the pump safely to and from customer sites, assess access, ground conditions and the planned placing position
• Work with customers and site management to agree the set-up, pipework and safe sequence of the pour, following site requirements and method statements
• Carry out pre-use checks, set up and prime the pump, then operate the boom and equipment safety, including awareness of the hazards of high-pressure concrete pumping
• Liaise with site teams and concrete delivery drivers during the pour, adapting the job while maintaining safe working practices
• Wash out and clean the equipment, carry out all daily, weekly and monthly scheduled checks as required to maintain your truck reporting any defects
• Follow all safety regulations and driving legislation
• Complete delivery paperwork with accuracy
• Represent Eastern Concrete professionally and build good working relationships with customers and contractors
