What they need
Baton Rouge Concrete Pump Operator
Louisiana Concrete Pumpers | Baton Rouge, LA
Full-time | Weekly Pay by Direct Deposit | Home Nightly
About the Position
Louisiana Concrete Pumpers is hiring a Concrete Pump Operator for our Baton Rouge yard. Experienced concrete boom pump and line pump operators are strongly encouraged to apply.
Two or more years of concrete pumping experience is preferred. A valid Class A or Class B CDL and prior commercial driving experience are required.
Bring your experience in pump setup, concrete placement, equipment operation, and jobsite safety to a team serving residential, commercial, industrial, and public works projects across Louisiana.
This is a hands-on operator position, not a driving-only job. You will report to the Baton Rouge yard, drive the pump truck to assigned jobsites, and handle equipment setup, pumping, cleanout, and daily equipment care.
Pay, Benefits, and Schedule
This position provides weekly pay by direct deposit and a typical schedule of 50 to 55 hours per week, depending on project needs.
Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) with company matching, and paid time off.
Operators are home nightly. Start times vary with dispatch and customer schedules, and the position requires early mornings, overtime, and local or regional jobsite travel.
What You Will Do
- Drive and inspect concrete pump trucks. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, travel safely between the yard and jobsites, and promptly report equipment or maintenance concerns.
- Evaluate the jobsite and set up safely. Assess access, ground conditions, overhead hazards, power lines, and traffic. Position the equipment and set up outriggers, pads, and cribbing according to equipment requirements and company procedures.
- Set up and operate concrete pumping equipment. Connect hoses, clamps, reducers, and related components; complete pump priming; and operate the assigned equipment safely throughout the pour.
- Coordinate concrete placement. Communicate with dispatch, contractors, hosemen, spotters, ready-mix drivers, and finishers. Monitor pump pressure, concrete flow, line conditions, and changing jobsite hazards.
- Recognize and address operating concerns. Identify abnormal pressure, potential blockages, and equipment problems. Follow approved troubleshooting procedures and stop work when conditions are unsafe.
- Complete cleanout and equipment care. Perform safe washout, cleanup, and routine daily maintenance. Complete inspection records, daily logs, job paperwork, and required safety documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL, prior commercial driving experience, and a driving record that meets company and insurance requirements.
- At least 21 years of age and able to meet required DOT physical, pre-employment drug-screening, and company safety requirements.
- Dependable attendance and availability for early starts, overtime, and changing construction schedules.
- Ability to perform essential field duties, including lifting, carrying, connecting, and handling hoses, clamps, tools, and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, rain, mud, noise, and active construction conditions while communicating clearly and following company safety procedures, DOT requirements, and customer site rules.
Preferred Experience
Hands-on concrete pumping experience is our priority, especially experience independently setting up and operating concrete boom pumps, line pumps, trailer pumps, or separate placing booms.
We value operators who understand safe equipment positioning, outrigger setup, pump controls, priming, pressure monitoring, cleanout, and basic mechanical troubleshooting. Experience on commercial, industrial, highway, bridge, and other demanding construction projects is also helpful.
Candidates with ready-mix, concrete-industry, or heavy-equipment experience and the required CDL may also be considered, with preference given to applicants who have operated concrete pumps.
Apply
Tell us about the concrete pumps you have operated. Include your pumping experience, previous employers, equipment types, pump brands, largest boom size operated, and current CDL class.
