Job Description – Concrete Quality Executive

Job Title: Concrete Quality Executive / QC Executive
Department: Quality Control
Location: Concrete/RMC Plant
Reporting To: Quality Control Engineer / Quality Manager

Job Summary

The Concrete Quality Executive is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the quality of concrete and raw materials at the RMC/Concrete Plant. The role involves testing, inspection, documentation, and ensuring that concrete production complies with approved mix designs, specifications, and applicable quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the quality of incoming raw materials such as cement, sand, aggregates, water, and admixtures.
• Conduct routine tests on raw materials as per approved procedures.
• Carry out fresh concrete tests such as slump, temperature, workability, and other required tests.
• Prepare concrete cube specimens and maintain proper identification and records.
• Monitor concrete production as per approved mix designs.
• Check batching accuracy and coordinate with the Plant Operator for any deviations.
• Maintain quality control records, test reports, registers, and documentation.
• Coordinate with site/project teams regarding concrete quality and testing requirements.
• Monitor cube testing and maintain compressive strength records.
• Identify quality deviations and report them to the QC Engineer/Quality Manager.
• Assist in investigating concrete quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory/testing equipment.
• Ensure proper sampling, testing, labeling, storage, and handling of specimens.
• Conduct regular inspection of plant and laboratory conditions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IS codes, project specifications, and company quality procedures.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards in the laboratory and plant area.
• Support internal quality audits and prepare required documentation.

Qualification

• Diploma / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• B.Tech in Civil Engineering preferred.

Experience

• 1–4 years of experience in RMC, concrete, construction, or quality control.
• Freshers with relevant Civil Engineering qualifications may also be considered.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of concrete and construction material testing.
• Knowledge of concrete mix design and basic quality control procedures.
• Familiarity with relevant IS codes and testing standards.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, especially MS Excel and Word.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work at plant and project sites.
• Willingness to work in shifts when required.
