Job Overview

Snyder & Sons Landscapes is seeking a skilled and motivated Concrete & Hardscape Specialist to join our growing team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality outdoor construction projects including custom concrete work, patios, walkways, retaining walls, and full landscape builds.

We are looking for a professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, understands structural integrity, and can execute detailed hardscape projects from start to finish. This is an opportunity to work on premium residential and select commercial projects throughout San Luis Obispo County while growing within a respected landscape construction company.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and strip forms for concrete flatwork, footings, curbs, and decorative applications according to project plans
• Mix, pour, place, and finish concrete with a high level of precision and quality
• Install rebar and reinforcement systems to meet structural and engineering requirements
• Execute hardscape installations including patios, walkways, pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor living features
• Operate equipment such as skid steers, compactors, mixers, and concrete tools safely and efficiently
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grading specifications
• Collaborate with project managers and crew members to meet project timelines and quality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant job site
• Assist with general landscape construction tasks including drainage, grading, and site preparation

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in concrete work, hardscaping, or landscape construction
• Strong knowledge of concrete forming, pouring, and finishing techniques
• Experience with pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor construction is highly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret plans, layouts, and construction documents
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and light/heavy equipment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Valid driver’s license (clean driving record preferred)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with decorative/stamped concrete
• Understanding of drainage systems and grading
• Equipment operation (skid steer, mini-excavator)
• Basic carpentry or framing knowledge related to outdoor structures
