About the Role

As a Configuration Manager III, you will oversee configuration management for both developmental and operational systems across their full lifecycle. You’ll work alongside development and operations teams to establish and maintain configuration baselines, enforce CM discipline, and drive change control processes. This role requires hands-on experience selecting and implementing automated CM tooling and tailoring CM plans to fit the complexity of the systems you support.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production) for developmental and operational systems

Develop, modify, and enforce CM plans, policies, and procedures scaled to system scope and complexity

Evaluate and recommend automated CM tools to support CM policy implementation

Implement CM discipline across the full system lifecycle, from initial requirements baselines through end-of-life

Perform change control management, including impact assessment and approval workflows

Conduct configuration audits to verify system integrity and baseline compliance

Collaborate with cross-functional development and operations teams to support system configuration needs

Required Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on configuration management experience across programs of similar scope and complexity

Experience creating and managing configuration baselines across development, test, and production environments

Proficiency with automated CM tools and the ability to evaluate and recommend tooling solutions

Experience developing or tailoring CM plans and procedures to program-specific requirements

Demonstrated ability to perform change control processes and configuration audits

Desired Qualifications

Experience with source code control systems (e.g., Git, SVN, Subversion) in a developmental program context

Familiarity with CM standards such as EIA-649 or MIL-HDBK-61

Background supporting both developmental and operational system environments

Experience managing CM across full system lifecycles from requirements through decommission
