DIRECTOR / PASTOR
People. Community. Growth. Leadership.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Connections Director/Pastor is responsible for creating and leading a clear pathway that helps people move from first-time guests to connected, growing, serving, and leading disciples. This person owns the connection process, ensuring that people do not fall through the cracks and that every next step has a clear owner, system, and follow-up.
THE BIG GOAL

· Track people who have not yet taken a next step.
- Develop a plan to follow up with new believers and plug them into the growth track.
· Look for ways to turn a first visit into an ongoing relationship.
Success looks like: No VIP falls through the cracks. Every VIP receives personal follow-up and has a clear opportunity to take a next step.
2. GROWTH TRACK
Own the system that helps people discover and take their next steps.
· Maintain the Growth Track calendar and process.
· Recruit and develop Growth Track leaders.
· Ensure classes are staffed and prepared.
· Monitor attendance and completion.
· Follow up with people who start but do not finish.
· Make the next step obvious at every stage.
· Coordinate with Small Groups and serving teams.
· Continually evaluate whether the pathway is working.
Pathway: Awaken 101 → Serve 101 → Small Group 101 → Freedom → Baptism →
3. SMALL GROUPS
Help people move from attending church to belonging to community.
· Recruit and develop Small Group leaders.
· Help new leaders launch groups.
· Help existing groups stay healthy.
· Connect people who want a group with an appropriate group.
· Monitor group openings and capacity.
· Create a pipeline for future Small Group leaders.
· Provide curriculum and resources.
· Help groups reproduce rather than simply maintain themselves.
Success looks like: People are connected to healthy Small Groups, and groups continually produce new leaders.
4. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Build leaders who can do the work instead of personally doing all the work.
· Identify potential leaders.
· Recruit and train leaders.
· Give leaders meaningful responsibility.
· Coach and develop leaders.
· Develop future leaders for every Connections area.
· Maintain a succession plan for key volunteer positions.
· Develop leaders who can develop other leaders.
