The RoleWe’re partnering with a prestigious property development company with an impressive portfolio, a strong reputation and a real passion for creating exceptional places. They’re looking for a switched-on Construction Accountant, with CA qualification, who can bring commercial nous, financial rigour and a practical, hands-on approach to the business. You will be responsible for driving strong financial governance while also contributing to commercial decision-making, development feasibility, cash-flow management and business performance. You’ll take ownership of the financial details across construction and property development projects, making sure the numbers stack up and the right people have the right information at the right time.

You will be

• Monitoring project budgets, costs, cash flow and forecasts
• Tracking construction expenditure, commitments, variations and cost to complete
• Preparing project financial reports and providing clear, useful commercial insights
• Supporting project feasibility assessments and financial modelling
• Managing two direct reports and overseeing supplier invoices, contractor payments and reconciliations
• Working closely with project managers, development managers and external stakeholders to identify risks, manage costs and protect project margins
• Keeping financial controls, reporting and processes running smoothly
• You’ll be someone who can spot a potential issue before it becomes an expensive surprise and explain what the numbers mean in plain English.

You will bring:

• As a CA you will have 5-7 years post qualification experience in construction accounting, property development accounting or project-based financial management
• A solid understanding of construction costs, project budgets, forecasting and cash flow
• Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail without losing sight of the bigger commercial picture
• Confidence working with project teams and challenging the numbers when something doesn’t look right
• A proactive, organised approach and the ability to juggle competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across the business
• Most importantly, you’re commercially curious, solutions focused and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where accuracy matters and no two projects are quite the same.
