Alromaih Business Services – Egypt operates as a Back-Office Support Center for Alromaih Group companies in Saudi Arabia, providing accounting, finance, HR, IT, marketing, engineering, and other business support services.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction & Cost Accountant to join our Egypt-based finance team.

The successful candidate will be based in our Cairo office and will provide back-office accounting, project costing, and financial analysis support to the Group's construction and engineering companies and projects in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze project costs against approved budgets.
• Record and classify direct and indirect project costs.
• Prepare detailed cost reports for construction projects.
• Monitor actual costs versus budgeted costs and investigate variances.
• Review subcontractor invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Review supplier invoices and project-related expenses.
• Monitor project advances, petty cash, and site expenses.
• Follow up on project receivables and payments.
• Assist in reviewing contractor and subcontractor payment certificates.
• Allocate labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs to projects.
• Prepare project profitability and cost-to-complete analyses.
• Assist in preparing project budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
• Reconcile project accounts with the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly project financial and cost-control reports for management.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams in Saudi Arabia.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain complete financial documentation for each project.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within construction or contracting companies.
• Proven hands-on experience in construction accounting and project costing.
• Good understanding of subcontractors, suppliers, project expenses, and payment certificates.
• Strong knowledge of cost allocation, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems is required.
• Experience with Odoo or construction ERP systems is an advantage.
• Good command of English.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with project and finance teams based in Saudi Arabia.
