Construction Apprentice / Field Assistant

About the Postition

We are a family-owned home improvement company looking for dependable, physically capable, coordinated person who wants to learn construction. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working hard, moving materials, using tools, staying organized, and learning by doing. Experience in construction is helpful but not required. Strong candidates may come from landscaping, hardscaping, moving, automotive, farm work, warehouse/ loading work, roofing/siding, concrete/masonary, delivery/install work, trade school, or competitive sports. We care more about work ethic, humility, coordination, reliability, and willingness to learn than about already knowing every trade. This is not a sit-around job and it is not a dead-end labor position. You will work directly with the owners, learn multiple trades, and earn more responsibility as quickly as you prove you can handle it.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

• Loading and unloading tools and materials
• Setting up floor protection, plastic, ladders, lighting, vacuum, and job site protection
• Keeping the truck, tools, and work areas organized
• Demolition assistance and material handling
• Cleanup throughout the day - not just at the end
• Drywall prep/repair, sanding, caulking, painting prep, trim, hardware, and simple installs as skills develop
• Material runs and job preperation
• Learning to anticipate the next tool, material, or task needed
• Eventuall taking ownership of small repairs, punch-list work, and service tasks

You may be a strong fit if you have experience with:

• Any job where you had to show up early, work outside, carry awkward/heavy materials, use tools, stay organized, and keep moving without constant supervision
• Trade-school or vocational programs such as carpentry, automotive, welding, electrical, or HVAC
• Sports, weight training, martial arts, or other activities that require coordination, discipline, and body awareness.
• Landscaping, hardscaping, farm, warehouse/loading, automotive, roofing/siding, concrete/ masonry, delivery/ installation, or other physical hands-on work

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
