Construction Attorney

Our law firm client is seeking a Construction Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join a sophisticated construction practice in Boston.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build a well-rounded construction practice spanning both transactional and litigation matters. The associate will advise construction industry clients throughout the lifecycle of their projects from contract drafting and negotiation to claims, dispute resolution, litigation, and appeals.

The role offers significant responsibility, hands-on experience, and direct involvement in complex construction matters within a collaborative team environment.

Role Overview

The associate will work with construction clients on a broad range of matters, including:

• Construction contract drafting and negotiation
• Contract review and risk allocation
• Claim preparation and presentation
• Complex construction disputes
• Delay and disruption claims
• Payment disputes
• Breach of contract matters
• Taking and defending depositions
• Drafting and arguing dispositive motions
• E-discovery and document-intensive litigation
• Arbitration and mediation
• Trial preparation and litigation
• Appeals
• Evaluating and monitoring existing and potential claims
• Developing litigation and resolution strategies
• Managing experts and local counsel
• Reporting directly to clients regarding strategy, risk, and case developments

Candidate Profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Massachusetts Bar membership required
• 3-5 years of litigation experience
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Strong dispositive motion practice
• Experience preparing matters for arbitration, mediation, and trial
• E-discovery experience
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong oral advocacy and communication skills
• Excellent academic credentials
• Ability to independently manage substantive responsibilities while collaborating with a broader team

Experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts and/or litigating construction disputes is a plus.
