We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Construction Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire billing process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed construction invoices, ensuring all billings align with project contracts and scope of work.
• Manage accounts receivable by tracking outstanding invoices and following up on overdue payments through effective communication and negotiation.
• Utilize various accounting software systems such as Sage, PeopleSoft, and specialized billing platforms to process transactions accurately.
• Reconcile billing data with project budgets, change orders, and purchase orders using Excel data analysis techniques and spreadsheets.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to resolve billing discrepancies promptly and professionally.
• Maintain comprehensive records of billing activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and audit documentation in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Support revenue cycle management by ensuring timely invoicing, collections account management, and accurate data entry into financial systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction billing or related fields within public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and journal entries.
• Proficiency with financial software including Sage, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken, and billing software platforms.
• Familiarity with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements for financial controls and reporting.
• Excellent skills in Excel formulas, spreadsheets management, and Excel data analysis to support accurate billing processes.
• Ability to manage collections accounts effectively through negotiation and customer service skills.
• Strong understanding of GAAP standards as they relate to revenue recognition and financial reporting.
• Exceptional attention to detail combined with effective phone etiquette and client communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
