We specialize in high-end residential renovations and custom construction throughout San Diego, and we are looking for someone who can help keep our projects organized, documented, and moving forward.
The Construction Coordinator works closely with our Project Managers, Estimating/Preconstruction team, subcontractors, vendors, designers, and clients to coordinate the many moving pieces of a residential construction project.
This role is ideal for someone who understands construction, communicates well, enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities at once.
Responsibilities

- Assist with project schedules, upcoming milestones, and tracking items needed to keep projects moving.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, designers, and internal team members.
- Request subcontractor and vendor bids, review proposals for completeness, and organize bid packages for review by the Project Manager and sales/preconstruction team.
- Assist with procurement by tracking material selections, approvals, lead times, orders, and deliveries.
- Organize and track client selections, finishes, fixtures, and other project-specific decisions.
- Maintain accurate project information and documentation within our construction management software.
- Assist with subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, proposals, and other project documentation.
- Review plans, specifications, proposals, and project documents to help identify missing information or coordination issues.
- Communicate project information clearly between the office, field team, subcontractors, vendors, designers, and clients.
- Follow up on outstanding bids, selections, approvals, material orders, and other action items.
- Help prepare projects for upcoming construction phases by confirming that required information, materials, and subcontractors are ready.
- Maintain organized digital project files, records, and correspondence.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with documenting and following up on action items.
- Proactively identify potential scheduling, procurement, or coordination issues and bring them to the appropriate team member's attention.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction coordination, project coordination, project engineering, or a similar role within the construction industry.
- Residential construction or remodeling experience strongly preferred.
- General understanding of residential construction methods, materials, trades, and sequencing.
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans and construction documents.
- Experience with construction management or project management software; Buildertrend experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable communicating with subcontractors, vendors, designers, clients, and internal team members.
- Ability to identify problems, gather the necessary information, and help drive items toward resolution.
- Proficient with email, spreadsheets, cloud-based documents, and other standard office technology.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities and doesn't wait for every next step to be assigned. Construction involves hundreds of details, decisions, deadlines, and handoffs, so the right person will be proactive about following up, keeping information organized, and making sure important items don't fall through the cracks.
You don't need to know everything on day one, but you should be curious about construction, willing to learn, comfortable asking questions, and motivated to become a valuable resource for both our office and field teams.
If you're passionate about residential construction and enjoy turning complex projects into organized, successful builds, we'd love to hear from you.
