Construction Density Testing Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Density Testing Technician to join our dynamic construction inspection team. In this role, you will perform essential testing and inspection of construction materials, with a focus on asphalt density assessments. Duties

• Conduct field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry materials according to ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials), and ACI (American Concrete Institute) standards.
• Measure and document material densities using specialized equipment such as nuclear gauges, sand cones, or other approved methods.
• Collect and analyze data related to construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications and contract requirements.
• Perform quality control inspections on construction sites, ensuring proper material placement, compaction, and forming techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of test results, inspection reports, and data logs using Microsoft Office tools for reporting purposes.
• Communicate findings clearly with project managers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to support project progress and quality assurance efforts.
• Assist in the inspection of construction processes involving asphalt paving.

Experience

• Prior laboratory experience or hands-on experience in construction materials testing is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated outdoor work experience on construction sites involving soil testing, concrete testing, or asphalt testing projects.
• Familiarity with ASTM standards for construction materials testing procedures is preferred.
• Basic math skills including numeracy for precise measurements and data analysis are essential.
• Strong technical proficiency in using construction inspection tools and software such as Microsoft Office suite.
• Previous experience working with construction contracts or quality inspection protocols will be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are vital for success in this role.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
