Construction Engineer (Building / Civil Construction)

About the role

Assist the Project Manager in managing and coordinating daily construction activities. Monitor site progress, workmanship and quality to ensure works are completed according to project requirements and schedule. Review and interpret structural, architectural and engineering drawings. Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements and relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in managing and coordinating daily construction activities
• Monitor site progress, workmanship and quality to ensure works are completed according to project requirements and schedule
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site personnel
• Review and interpret structural, architectural and engineering drawings
• Prepare and maintain site documentation, progress reports, inspection records and other project-related documents
• Monitor work progress and follow up on site issues and rectification works
• Assist in planning work schedules, manpower and material requirements
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements and relevant regulations
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with relevant parties to resolve technical and site issues
• Assist with inspections, testing and handover activities

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant construction experience, preferably in Singapore
• Able to read and understand structural, architectural and engineering drawings
• Good knowledge of construction methods, site coordination and project procedures
• Familiar with Singapore construction safety requirements and WSH regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
• Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment
• Responsible, proactive and willing to learn
