Construction Engineer

Benarc Construction Company Limited is looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Site Engineer to join our team.

We are seeking a seasoned construction professional with strong practical knowledge of building construction and the ability to confidently manage and supervise site activities from setting out through to completion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out and supervise setting out of building works accurately using appropriate surveying equipment.
• Take and establish levels, benchmarks, lines and measurements on site.
• Ensure columns, walls, beams and other structural elements are correctly plumb, level and aligned.
• Read, interpret and work from architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
• Supervise construction activities and ensure works are executed according to drawings, specifications and approved methods.
• Monitor concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, plastering, screeding, roofing and other construction activities.
• Check dimensions, levels, alignment and workmanship at every stage of construction.
• Identify and resolve technical issues on site promptly.
• Coordinate and supervise artisans, subcontractors and site workers.
• Monitor materials, workmanship and construction quality.
• Liaise with architects, consultants, project managers and other professionals on technical matters.
• Maintain accurate site records, measurements, reports and daily progress updates.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and construction standards.
• Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed within agreed timelines.

REQUIREMENTS

• B.Sc./B.Eng. in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3–10 years of hands-on construction/site experience.
• Strong practical experience in building construction and site supervision.
• Must be highly competent in setting out, taking levels, checking plumb, alignment and dimensions.
• Ability to confidently use Auto Level, Total Station and other relevant surveying/site equipment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials and sequencing.
• Ability to identify errors on site before they become costly problems.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work independently and take responsibility for site activities.
• Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for someone who has real site experience, not just theoretical knowledge.

You should be the kind of engineer who can walk onto a site, read the drawings, check the levels, verify the setting out, inspect the reinforcement and formwork, identify when something is out of plumb or alignment, and ensure the work is corrected before proceeding.
