Construction Engineer

Building a house is one thing.

Getting multiple contractors to deliver the right quality, on schedule, and within budget is another.

We’re looking for a Construction Engineer who can help manage housing projects from contractor awarding through construction completion, appraisal, and turnover.

This is not purely a site-inspection role.

You’ll work closely with contractors, internal teams, and homeowners to keep projects moving — solving delays, managing commercial and operational issues, and making sure units are ready for the next stage.

What you’ll own

Contractor awarding

You’ll help determine which contractors have the capacity to take on additional projects and support the full awarding process, including:

• Bid evaluation
• Price negotiation
• Contractor selection
• Contract preparation and processing

Construction delivery

Once work starts, you’ll help keep it on track.

You’ll:

• Monitor construction progress against committed timelines
• Work with contractors when projects fall behind
• Review and approve recovery plans
• Recommend contractor takeovers when necessary
• Lead contractor coordination meetings
• Process payments based on agreed construction milestones

Appraisal and turnover

You’ll also help move completed units toward appraisal and homeowner turnover by:

• Coordinating scheduled appraisals with relevant teams
• Reviewing appraisal results and escalating issues when needed
• Coordinating client punch-list schedules
• Responding to construction-related homeowner concerns
• Recommending and coordinating back jobs where required

Who we’re looking for

You should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and relevant experience in project or construction engineering.

A Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred based on the current role requirements.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who have handled:

• New construction and renovation projects
• Multiple contractors or project sites
• Construction scheduling and progress monitoring
• Contractor negotiations and coordination
• Project budgets and milestone payments
• Punch lists, turnover, or post-construction concerns

Experience in real estate or affordable housing would be an advantage.
