Construction Engineer [SL]

Job Summary

The Project Engineer will coordinate and monitor assigned construction activities to ensure work is carried out according to approved project plans, technical specifications, contractual requirements, quality standards and EHS procedures. The role also supports work planning, technical problem-solving, quality improvement and cost-effective use of project resources.

Key Responsibilities

Review project drawings, ISO requirements, work scopes, contract documents and subcontract agreements to understand technical and execution requirements.

Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical matters before commencement of construction activities.

Prepare short- and medium-term work schedules for management review and implement approved programmes to meet project milestones.

Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, quality procedures, EHS requirements and site housekeeping standards.

Implement quality control procedures, maintain inspection records, analyse quality results and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Maintain complete and accurate project documentation to meet company, client and relevant regulatory requirements for quality and EHS.

Monitor material usage, storage and handling for temporary and permanent works to minimise damage, wastage and unnecessary expenditure.

Identify potential construction defects, rework and abortive works, and coordinate preventive measures to minimise cost and schedule impacts.

Work closely with the project team to resolve site issues and support the timely completion of project activities.

Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Project Manager in support of project delivery.
