Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered within budget and scope. Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project requirements and material needs.
• Develop detailed cost estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid, Xactimate, or similar tools, ensuring precision in material quantities, labor costs, and subcontractor quotes.
• Manage project budgets by analyzing costs, controlling expenses, and providing ongoing cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients to negotiate pricing, scope adjustments, and contract terms that align with project goals while maintaining profitability.
• Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive bids and ensure quality standards are met.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals by estimating material requirements from blueprints and construction drawings while considering market fluctuations in material costs.
• Utilize construction management software and spreadsheets to track estimates, update cost data, and generate reports for internal review and client presentations.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, or similar platforms.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Solid understanding of construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Demonstrated ability in cost control, material cost estimating, and budgeting for large-scale projects.
• Effective negotiation skills combined with excellent client communication abilities.
• Construction site experience coupled with a thorough knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards.
• Familiarity with estimating for various types of commercial projects including pricing strategies and material requirement estimation from blueprints.

Pay: $71,041.30 - $85,555.11 per year
