Construction Estimator

About the role

This role involves reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and tender documentation, and preparing accurate quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). You will assist with cost estimates and tender pricing, obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations, and support tender submissions and procurement activities. You will maintain estimating registers, pricing databases, and project documentation while liaising with Australian Estimators and Project Managers. The role requires identifying cost-saving and value engineering opportunities and ensuring estimates are completed accurately and within deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
• Assist with cost estimates and tender pricing
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Assist with tender submissions and procurement activities
• Maintain estimating registers, pricing databases, and project documentation
• Liaise with Australian Estimators and Project Managers
• Identify cost-saving and value engineering opportunities
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within deadlines

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction estimating or quantity surveying
• Experience with quantity take-offs, tender preparation, BOQs, and cost estimating
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal English communication
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Required software skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Advantage: Bluebeam Revu, CostX, Buildsoft Cubit, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore, or Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Previous experience with Australian construction projects is highly desirable
