Construction Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing comprehensive estimates, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and subcontractors. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, competitive, and completed within budget. Duties

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and material requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects using estimating software such as HeavyBid and other construction management tools.
• Analyze material costs, labor rates, subcontractor quotes, and equipment expenses to prepare accurate budgets.
• Utilize Bluebeam and other digital tools to review blueprints, create takeoffs, and manage project documentation efficiently.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Manage project estimates from initial concept through final bid submission, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals.
• Monitor cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to prevent budget overruns and optimize resource allocation.
• Collaborate with project managers on contract review, scope changes, and risk assessments to ensure comprehensive cost management.
• Prepare detailed spreadsheets for estimating material requirements, pricing strategies, and project budgets.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding estimates, scope clarifications, and project timelines to foster transparency and trust.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Xactimate, or equivalent tools.
• Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and construction drawing review.
• Skilled in using Bluebeam for digital markup and document management; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, and estimation for large-scale projects.
• Experience with construction site operations, contract negotiations, and project management principles.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
• Construction industry experience with a focus on estimating construction project budgets and pricing strategies.
• Familiarity with construction management software to track progress and control costs effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications accurately while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
