Overview

We are seeking a highly disciplined Residential Construction Estimator to produce accurate, clearly scoped, and defendable estimates. This role is critical in ensuring the build team can deliver quality projects without cost overruns or confusion. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and disciplined, capable of ensuring every number produced can be explained and traced back to documented pricing logic. By maintaining consistency and clarity in the estimating process, this role directly contributes to keeping projects on budget and maintaining high company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Estimate Development & Accuracy

• Build detailed estimates from clearly defined scope briefs and historical project data.
• Populate standardized assemblies and line items within company estimating tools.
• Perform quantity calculations from written scope descriptions and blueprints.
• Apply company-approved pricing and production rates to ensure defendable numbers.
• Maintain clean estimating documentation and flag missing information or unclear scope.

Bid Coordination & Analysis

• Prepare subcontractor bid packages with clear inclusions and exclusions.
• Tabulate and level subcontractor bids based on provided company rules.
• Review subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy, verifying quantities and alignment with plans.
• Perform post-job analysis of budget to actual performance to update pricing modules in real time.
• Support revisions and updates to estimates based on feedback from leadership.

Project Support & Documentation

• Draft scope narratives and specifications from existing templates.
• Compile job handoff documentation on sold projects for distribution to the build team.
• Maintain up-to-date project data in software systems such as JobTread, Google Drive - Server, or Buildertrend.
• Assist leadership in preparing project data and reports for client meetings.
• Organize and improve company historical data to accelerate budget development for new projects.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Chief Architect for takeoff assistance.
• 3+ years of experience in residential construction estimating or production support.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting US businesses remotely.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction processes, terminology, and finishes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and bid proposals at an advanced level.
• Strong attention to detail with proven financial and organizational skills.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Comfortable working US-Eastern Time hours.

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)

• Experience with JobTread, Field Pulse, or QuickBooks software.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills for data analysis and template creation.
• Ability to leverage AI or digital tools for estimating and data analysis.
• Experience with assembly-based estimating systems.
