Construction Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and managing project budgets from inception to completion. Your expertise will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and vendors. Duties

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs.
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction management tools to develop comprehensive project estimates.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis including material costs, subcontractor bids, labor rates, and equipment expenses to establish precise project budgets.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and vendors through negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Manage multiple estimating projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Assist in reviewing construction contracts, change orders, and scope modifications to control costs effectively.
• Support project management teams by providing cost control insights and updating estimates based on project progress or design changes.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, along with construction management software.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Solid understanding of construction drawing review, cost management, material cost estimating, and pricing strategies.
• Experience in estimating for large-scale commercial projects with a focus on cost control and budget adherence.
• Skilled in negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to achieve optimal pricing outcomes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
• Construction site experience is highly desirable for better understanding of on-ground realities.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
