Construction Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial and residential construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project plans, and collaborating with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are financially viable and completed within budget. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality construction solutions efficiently while maintaining competitive pricing and strong client relationships. Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs.
• Develop detailed project budgets by utilizing estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• Conduct cost analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services to prepare comprehensive bids.
• Manage project estimates from initial concept through final bid submission, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors through negotiation to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Monitor ongoing project costs to ensure adherence to budgets; implement cost control measures as needed.
• Prepare detailed spreadsheets and reports for estimating purposes, including material takeoffs and bid summaries.
• Review construction contracts, manage project documentation, and coordinate with project management teams for seamless execution.
• Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new estimating techniques to continuously improve accuracy.

Skills

• Proficiency in estimating software such as Xactimate, or equivalent tools.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive prices with vendors and subcontractors.
• Experience managing construction project estimates from start to finish within a commercial construction setting.
• Knowledge of construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Ability to review construction drawings accurately and estimate material quantities from blueprints.
• Skilled in cost management, material cost estimating, and estimating construction project budgets.
• Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and construction site experience.
• Effective client communication skills for presenting estimates and negotiating terms confidently.
