Construction Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive successful project outcomes from the ground up. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing comprehensive bids, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive pricing and profitable execution. Your expertise will help shape the financial foundation of our construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Duties

• Develop detailed construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms that align with project budgets.
• Prepare accurate cost proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, permits, and other direct or indirect expenses necessary for project completion.
• Review project drawings and specifications thoroughly to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist in the development of bid packages and manage the bidding process to ensure timely submission of competitive proposals.
• Coordinate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with overall project timelines and objectives.
• Maintain organized records of all estimating activities, including pricing data, supplier quotes, and bid documentation for future reference.

Experience

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology. Emphasis on finishing trade materials and labour processes
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools is not essential.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications accurately.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup is highly desirable.
• Prior project management experience or familiarity with construction scheduling is a plus.

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
