About the company

Carlton B. Geesaman Building and Remodeling is a family-owned general contractor in Grantville, PA. We have been doing this since 1976. We build and remodel across residential, commercial, and industrial work — custom homes, additions, renovations, concrete and excavation — most of it with our own crews. The Geesaman name goes on the job, so the work has to be right.

We are not looking for a “blue suede shoe” salesman. We want an honest, dedicated, self-motivated estimator who can price general construction correctly and bring jobs we do not already have. You will be treated the same way: straight, no bull.

What you will do

• Estimate general construction work from residential through commercial and industrial
• Take plans and specs and turn them into complete, defendable estimates
• Quantity takeoffs; price labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors
• Solicit and level sub and vendor quotes
• Walk jobs and attend pre-bid meetings when needed
• Put together clean bid packages and proposals — no padding, no lowballing just to “win”
• Develop work outside our current book: owners, GCs, referrals, and opportunities you bring with you
• Hand awarded work to the field so it can be built the way it was priced

Who we want

• Real construction estimating experience across general construction (residential, commercial, and/or industrial). Field time plus estimating beats a degree with no dirt on the boots
• You can read drawings and stand behind the number
• You go get work. You do not sit and wait for invitations
• Straight talk. No games with clients, subs, or this office
• Organized. Quotes, follow-up, and paperwork do not disappear
• Comfortable with Excel and estimating / takeoff software (we can discuss tools)

Helpful, not required: Bluebeam or similar digital takeoff, local Central PA relationships, mixed residential / commercial / industrial background.
