Construction Estimator

Job Title: Construction Estimator

Position Summary:
The Construction Estimator is responsible for reviewing construction plans, identifying scopes of work, and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously, and clear communication with both internal team members and external partners. Pay is DOE. Must have experience in heavy civil construction, with experience or knowledge of underground utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project plans and specifications thoroughly to determine scope of work.
• Distribute plan sets to vendors and subcontractors as soon as possible after receipt.
• Identify scopes that JGF Built will be bidding and ensure complete coverage.
• Follow up with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing by required deadlines.
• If a vendor is unable to provide a quote, promptly identify and engage alternative vendors.
• Prepare and complete accurate take-offs as needed.
• Compile and organize received bids for review with management.
• Ensure all emails to vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders include both the Owner and Operations Manager (cc’d on all correspondence).
• Assist in preparing final bid proposals for submission.
• Track and maintain historical cost data for future estimating use.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in construction estimating preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, scopes, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
