Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring projects are financially viable and aligned with client expectations. This role requires a strong understanding of the construction industry, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in estimating tools and techniques. The Construction Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to develop comprehensive budgets and ensure successful project execution.

Duties

• Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately assess project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed material cost estimates based on project plans and specifications.
• Develop comprehensive construction project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and other direct costs.
• Utilize spreadsheets and estimation software to compile and analyze cost data efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project details, provide updates, and address any cost-related inquiries.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information.
• Assist in bid preparation by compiling all necessary documentation and ensuring competitive yet profitable estimates.
• Monitor industry trends and material costs to maintain accurate and up-to-date estimates.
• Support project managers during the bidding process and throughout project execution by providing ongoing cost analysis.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the construction industry, specifically in commercial construction estimation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for creating detailed spreadsheets.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with material cost estimating and developing construction budgets.
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices related to construction estimation.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
