Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material and labor requirements.
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to develop detailed project bids.
• Manage the entire estimation process for commercial construction projects, including cost analysis, risk assessment, and budget development.
• Collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights that influence accurate cost estimation and project planning.
• Prepare comprehensive spreadsheets and reports that outline project costs, timelines, and resource allocations for review by stakeholders.
• Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle by implementing effective cost management strategies and adjusting estimates as needed.
• Review construction drawings thoroughly to identify potential challenges or opportunities for cost savings.
• Assist in estimating material quantities from blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise procurement planning.
• Support project managers with budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation based on detailed estimates.

Experience

• Proven experience as a construction estimator with a strong background in commercial construction projects.
• Extensive knowledge of estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex construction drawings and technical specifications accurately.
• Hands-on experience managing projects from initial estimate through project completion with a focus on cost control and budgeting.
• Solid understanding of construction industry standards, material pricing strategies, and subcontractor negotiations.
• Construction site experience that provides practical insights into on-the-ground challenges influencing estimates.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with construction management software tools that streamline project workflows and documentation processes.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
