About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Piping Estimator in the Houston area to join a growing mechanical contractor working on large commercial and mission-critical construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical piping estimating, with large-scale data center project experience required . This role will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, reviewing project plans, and working closely with project management and operations teams to develop competitive bids.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for large commercial mechanical piping projects, including data centers and mission-critical facilities.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Perform material takeoffs, labor estimates, and equipment pricing.
• Estimate piping systems including chilled water, condenser water, hydronic piping, process piping, and other commercial mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Identify potential project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Work closely with project managers, field leadership, and preconstruction teams.
• Manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines and maintaining estimating accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must have estimating experience on large commercial data center projects.
• 5+ years of mechanical piping estimating experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC piping, hydronic systems, and mechanical construction.
• Experience estimating large, complex mechanical piping packages.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
• Experience with estimating software such as Trimble AutoBid, FastPIPE, or similar programs.
• Strong knowledge of labor productivity, material pricing, and subcontractor coordination.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Previous field experience in mechanical piping is a plus.

What We're Looking For

We need someone who understands the complexity of large data center construction projects and can accurately estimate major mechanical piping scopes. Experience working with large mechanical contractors on fast-paced, multimillion-dollar projects is highly preferred.
