Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure projects are financially viable and completed within budget. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality construction solutions efficiently while maintaining strong client relationships. Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and requirements.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools.
• Analyze material costs and quantities from blueprints to determine precise material requirements and pricing strategies.
• Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the construction process, implementing cost control measures, and adjusting estimates as needed.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and present estimates clearly to clients, ensuring transparency in pricing and scope.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to review contracts, manage change orders, and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam or Xactimate for document review, markup coordination, and project tracking.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground insights that influence accurate estimation.
• Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, correspondence, and revisions for future reference.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, or similar platforms.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings accurately.
• Solid understanding of construction management software tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Demonstrated expertise in cost management, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and budget estimation for large-scale projects.
• Effective negotiation skills with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable terms.
• Knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and construction site safety protocols.
• Ability to read blueprints thoroughly and interpret technical specifications for precise estimation purposes.
• Construction site experience is highly desirable to provide practical insights during the estimating process.
• Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
