Construction Estimator

About the Position

RP Masiello is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Construction Estimator to join our team and provide essential support to our company. This position offers an opportunity to play an important role in the commercial construction estimating process while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative team environment. A successful candidate will manage multiple estimating opportunities from initial review through bid submission, working closely with project management and field operations.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. Construction experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

● Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects including labor, materials, equipment, and vendor/subcontractor pricing.

● Ability to conceptualize estimates as well as estimate in real time

● Analyze documents, blueprints, and project plans, and bid documents to develop accurate estimates.

● Support estimating and procurement efforts during critical pre-construction phases and throughout construction.

● Coordinate and communicate with adjacent teams (i.e., subcontractors, suppliers, etc) to obtain information, clarify pricing, follow up on outstanding items and overall maintain project quality.

● Track bid deadlines, outstanding quotes, and required documentation to help ensure estimates are completed on time.

● Organize and maintain electronic bid files, project documentation, pricing records, and estimating databases.

● Manage multiple assignments and shift priorities while maintaining organization and attention to detail.

● Develop thorough scopes of work that cover all aspects of a project, and ensure subcontractors comply with the scope produced.
