Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with an established construction company in Doral, Florida.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of construction estimating experience, with a strong background in multifamily residential construction, including stucco, metal framing, drywall, and interior/exterior finishes.

This position is responsible for reviewing construction plans, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, analyzing project costs, obtaining subcontractor and supplier pricing, and preparing competitive bid proposals.

Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. Candidates must be available to work on-site in Doral, Florida.

Key Responsibilities

• Review bid invitations, architectural drawings, construction plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates for stucco, metal framing, drywall, and interior/exterior finishes.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for multifamily construction projects.
• Prepare competitive bid proposals with detailed scopes of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Analyze project documents to identify scope gaps, potential cost impacts, and estimating risks.
• Request, review, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Coordinate with general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements.
• Collaborate with business development and operations teams to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, bid documentation, and cost information.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, project reviews, and bid negotiations as needed.
• Assist with project handoffs to operations following contract awards.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities and potential cost savings while maintaining quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of construction estimating experience.
• Multifamily residential construction estimating experience is required.
• Experience estimating stucco, drywall, metal framing, and/or interior and exterior finishes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans, and specifications.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed construction estimates.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, labor productivity, installation methods, and subcontractor pricing.
• Proficiency with construction estimating and quantity takeoff software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish.
• Ability to work on-site in Doral, Florida.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating large-scale multifamily developments, apartment complexes, or condominium projects.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar estimating software.
• Knowledge of commercial construction bidding and subcontractor proposal preparation.
• Experience with bid leveling, cost analysis, and value engineering.
• Familiarity with South Florida construction practices, materials, and subcontractor markets.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $80,000–$100,000

Compensation will be based on relevant estimating experience, technical expertise, and qualifications.
