What they need
Trinity CSG is looking for a motivated and experienced Construction Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our team. This position will focus primarily on estimating, bidding, takeoffs, organization, and preconstruction support for commercial and oilfield construction projects.
We are looking for someone with 3+ years of construction experience preferred, particularly in earthwork, demolition, concrete, and underground utilities.
This is not strictly an Estimator position. While there may be opportunities to assist with project management duties, the primary focus will be helping Trinity CSG identify, understand, estimate, organize, and successfully pursue new work while supporting our operations team on awarded projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with bids for commercial and oilfield construction projects
- Review and understand plans, specifications, bid documents, contracts, and project requirements
- Read through, understand, and decipher bid packages, scopes of work, contracts, specifications, and related construction documents
- Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and supplier pricing
- Solicit, review, compare, and organize subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Prepare clear bid proposals, clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions
- Maintain organized bid files, takeoffs, proposals, quotes, contracts, and project documentations
- Track bid opportunities, deadlines, addenda, revisions, and required submissions
- Assist operations and project management with awarded projects as needed
- Communicate effectively with field personnel, management, customers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors
- Help improve estimating procedures, organization, and overall workflow
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and follow them through to completion
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant construction experience preferred
- Experience estimating or workign with earthwork/sitework
- Knowledge of demolition, concrete, and underground utilities
- Experience with commercial construction, oilfield construction, or heavy civil/site construction preferred
- Ability to thoroughly read and understand bid packages, scopes of work, contracts, plans, specifications, addenda, and other construction documents
- Ability to compare documents and identify discrepancies, missing scope, exclusions, and potential contractual or financial risks
- Ability to read and understand civil plans, details, specifications, and construction documents
- Understanding of construction equipment, production rates, labor, materials, and job costs
- Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new construction technology
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Detail-oriented and task-driven
- Ability to prioritize multiple bids, deadlines, and responsibilities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Dependable and willing to take ownership of responsibilities
Software & Technology
- Topcon Office
- InSite Elevation Pro
- STACK
- Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications
- Construction estimating and takeoff software
- Digital plans and construction documents
Direct experience with every program is not required. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with computers, understands construction technology, and is willing and able to learn.
Technical experience is important, but attitude, accountability, and teamwork matter just as much. We are looking for someone who:
- Is a team player and willing to help wherever needed
- Is organized and keeps track of details without needing constant follow-up
- Is task-oriented and follows assignments through to completion
- Takes ownership of their work and responsibilities
- Pays attention to details and asks questions when something in a bid, scope, or contract does not make sense
- Can look beyond quantities and pricing to understand the complete scope and requirements of a project
- Can adapt between the different requirements and environments of commercial and oilfield construction
- Communicates clearly with both office and field personnel
- Is willing to learn and continuously improve
- Understands that construction requires flexibility and occasionally stepping outside of a defined job description
- Makes decisions with the best of interest of the company and team in mind
- Takes pride in helping the company succeed, not just completing individual responsibilities
At Trinity CSG, we operate as a team. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the company's growth, support the people around them, and become an important part of our operation.
